Latest Updates News About Girls Night Out, Girls Aloud, Girls, Playboy Girls, Girls Generation: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday declared class XII results of three regions — Chennai, Ajmer and Panchkula. Gujarat falls under Ajmer region. An estimated 2,200 science and commerce students from the state took the exams in March and more than 90 per cent of them have cleared their papers.
Like in the past, students of private schools have outclassed their counterparts in government schools. Overall, girls have once again emerged as better performers than boys in the state. The top scorer in science stream, however, is a city boy, Achuthan Sekar. The 17-year-old has secured 97.4 per cent, with 100 marks in mathematics and computer science.
Of the 2,200 class XII CBSE students in Gujarat, 1,010 are from 45 Kendra Vidyalayas (KVs), which have recorded 92.2 per cent result.
The KV in Shahibaug has registered the best result among government CBSE schools in the city. More than 95 per cent of its science students and 94.7 cent commerce students have passed their examinations. KV ONGC follows next with 92.7 per cent passing rate in science.
The Kendra Vidyalaya in Vastrapur has registered 92.7 per cent result, while the one in Gandhinagar has registered 87.8 per cent result. With 94.4 per cent, Gargi Kalkura of KV, Chankheda, is one of the top KV performers in the state.
Interestingly, almost all private CBSE schools in the city have recorded 100 per cent result. All the science and commerce students of Prakash School, Maharaja Agrasen and Army School have cleared their papers. While DPS has 100 per cent passing rate in science, its performance in commerce is 99 per cent.
Like last year, many students faced difficult checking their marks online. Immediately after the central board announced results, the number of students logging into its website surged. This slowed down the site, making it difficult for students to access their results.
In the Ajmer region, including Gujarat, 78,885 science and commerce students appeared for examinations. Of these, 45,784 were boys and the remaining girls. More than 37,700 boys passed their exams, while 29,006 out of 33,101 girls girls cleared their papers. The passing rate of boys is 82.38, whereas that of girls is 87.63.
